We’re so proud of our Guitar Gurus group and The Rock School for finishing their latest masterpiece! This creative journey was taken to the next level with the incredible Gordon from Waraba Arts, who collaborated with our NDIS participants to transform an electric guitar into a stunning work of Aboriginal art.

This special project was about more than just creativity – it was an opportunity to learn about the rich cultural significance behind Aboriginal art and the traditional techniques used to bring these powerful stories to life.

The end result? A one-of-a-kind masterpiece that celebrates music, culture, and community.

Meet Jess, Our Newest Community Nurse! 


We’re thrilled to welcome Jess to our team! With 5 years of nursing experience under her belt, Jess brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep passion for community care. Originally from Brisbane, Jess has traded the hustle and bustle of city life for the relaxed pace of Gladstone - she’s a big fan of the local traffic (or lack thereof!) and loves the sense of calm our community offers.


Jess moved to Gladstone to be closer to her partner’s family and has quickly fallen in love with the area's friendly vibe. She’s also an avid traveller who recently explored Europe, visiting stunning destinations like Spain, France, England, Italy, and Barcelona. Next on her travel bucket list? South America!

In her downtime, Jess enjoys the simple joys of life -reading, playing at the beach with her dog, and indulging in her favourite food, pasta. She’s drawn to community nursing because of its focus on forming meaningful connections and the social, caring aspect of the role.
We’re so excited to have Jess on board, and we know she’ll make a wonderful addition to our team and the community. Welcome, Jess!

BOARD OF DIRECTORS APPOINTS NEW CEO

With Jenni Marsh stepping down as Managing Director, we sincerely thank her for her significant achievements, dedication and passion in leading GCLA through very substantial change.

it is with great pleasure that the GCLA Board of Directors announce that Patricia has been appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer at GCLA. Patricia will assume her CEO role on Monday June 3.

Patricia’s ethos, values and philosophy align seamlessly with the values and goals of our organisation. Her skills, knowledge and experience will greatly assist the Board, Senior Managers, employees and volunteers to continue creating a successful and financial sustainable organisation.

Patricia may be known to some of our clients and their families, employees, volunteers and Senior Managers as she has lived and worked in Gladstone. She brings a strong sense of local connection and identity to the responsibilities and role of Chief Executive Officer.

Patricia is a dedicated leader with extensive experience in engaging and mentoring employees and teams to ensure clients’, their partners’ and families’ expectations and needs are fulfilled. Her approach is particularly evident in leading and managing within the highly legislated sectors of NDIS - disability services and Aged Care - home care services.

She has successfully worked with clients and families, leaders and employees, along with volunteers in a number of community organisations, co-designing, developing and implementing various strategic plans. These are attributes and capabilities that the Board strongly believe are complimentary to the needs of GCLA.

The Board is also very pleased to confirm that Jennifer Marsh will continue her role as a Director on our GCLA Board. This provides a sense of continuity for our organisation.

The Board of Directors offers its sincere congratulations to Patricia, and we look forward to joining all GCLA members, clients and families, Senior Managers, employees and volunteers in warmly welcoming Patricia to GCLA as we continue to develop our enormous potential and that of its dedicated employees.
