    Home Care packages are government funded services which are aimed at providing support to senior Australians to assist them to stay independent at home for as long as possible.  To help meet the needs of persons who require different amounts of support the government has provided four different levels of Home Care Packages. The benefit of a home care package is that we will work with you so that you choose the care and services that best suite your needs and goals. 

About Home Care Packages

A Home Care Package is government-provided, regular, long-term assistance to help you stay healthy, active, connected and living in your own home.

Think of it as a program that helps support your future needs, taking care of things before they become a much larger issue and may end up with you needing to go into residential care.


Three key things to know about Home Care Packages

  1. The packages are designed BY you and FOR you and include all kinds of service options – from showering to physiotherapy, help around the home and more. You are in the driver’s seat, enabling you to have your say in how and when your services are delivered.
  2. You will have to begin the process; it doesn’t automatically happen when you reach a certain age.
  3. You can apply on behalf of a loved one with their consent, should they need the assistance.

What is a Home Care Package (HCP)?

Let’s start at the beginning. A Home Care Package (HCP) uses government funding to help seniors needing regular basic support or more advanced care to continue living independently at home for longer.

If you are eligible for an Australian government Home Care Package, you can use your Home Care Package funds to access a range of services to help with domestic tasks and personal care.

Depending on your needs and availability in your area, this could include cleaning, home and garden maintenance, in-home nursing, transport to appointments, social support, meal preparation, plus allied health, community, and other specialist services to name a few.
