Support at Home Program – Coming 1 November 2025
From 1 November 2025, the current Home Care Packages Program will end, and the Support at Home Program will take its place.
The new program will include:
Eight new classification levels with corresponding funding.
More funding for people with complex needs.
Simpler assessment and reassessment pathways that reflect changing needs.
A restorative care pathway to help improve and maintain independence.
Dedicated funding for assistive technology and home modifications.
Extra support for older people in their final three months of life.
The Support at Home Program aims to provide greater flexibility, fairness, and independence for older Australians who wish to live safely and comfortably at home.
